Olympique de Marseille captain Timothy Weah has been handed a one-game ban for his red card against Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s Le Classique defeat.

Weah was sent off for a second yellow card just moments after PSG had re-taken the lead thanks to a close-range finish from Marquinhos. OM would go on to lose the match and record a fifth defeat in their last six games in all competitions. It marks the worst start to a season in the club’s history.

Weah will now miss the game against ESTAC Troyes after the LFP Disciplinary Committee gave the USMNT international a one-game ban on Wednesday. The LFP announced other sanctions, notably a four-game ban (two of which are suspended) for Paris Brunner for his throat-slicing celebration against RC Strasbourg Alsace .

AJ Auxerre’s Christ Makosso and Le Mans FC’s Djibril Sidibé have both also received one-game bans and will miss their respective Matchday six fixtures upon the return of club football. The Disciplinary Committee withdrew yellow cards from Iron Gomis (ESTAC Troyes) and Noah Nartey (Olympique Lyonnais).
