Manchester City and Liverpool have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s much-anticipated Premier League fixture at Anfield. Today’s match is Manchester City’s first since the 115 verdict was announced. Their opponent, Liverpool, will be eager to prove a point against a team that has so often pipped them to the post. The Anfield crowd will no doubt have a fierce reception ready for Enzo Maresca’s side. Today is about this City side putting the outside noise aside and focusing on continuing their seven-match winning run in all competitions.

For Manchester City, they have been boosted by the news that Erling Haaland is fit and available to play in today’s match. Enzo Maresca told the media on Friday that Haaland has had a small period of rest and is likely to start today’s match. Antoine Semenyo withdrew from international duty due to a swollen ankle. But he has trained with his teammates and should be fit to play at Anfield. Nico O’Reilly is in doubt after suffering an undisclosed injury whilst playing for England over the international break. It is hoped that the injury the England international suffered isn’t too serious.

Phil Foden will miss today’s match. Foden is serving the third match of the three-game ban he received for being sent off in Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Here are both team’s starting lineups for today’s match.

Enzo Maresca has made one change to the starting lineup that beat Sunderland 5-3. Nico O’Reilly replaces Josko Gvardiol at left-back with Jeremy Doku on the bench.

Nico O’Reilly starts today’s match after being in doubt due to the injury he sustained on international duty. That is great news for Manchester City.
