Corinthians have sacked head coach Fernando Diniz.

The decision was made on Wednesday (7), shortly after the defeat to Inter in Porto Alegre.

The result left the São Paulo side with seven consecutive defeats in the Brasileirão and brought them even closer to the relegation zone.

Corinthians currently have 32 points, one more than Inter, who occupy the first of the four relegation spots.

Shortly before the latest international break, Corinthians were also knocked out of the Libertadores in the quarterfinals.

Corinthians' next match this season is the derby against Palmeiras at Nubank Parque.
