England do not need a revolution in Prague. They need a response. A 3-2 defeat at home to Spain in the opening Nations League fixture has put Thomas Tuchel under early pressure, and the margin for error against Czechia already looks slim.

The expectation is that England will avoid unnecessary changes. That makes sense. Panic selections after one defeat usually create more problems than they solve. Still, there are fitness concerns, and they affect the back line.

Ezri Konsa and Nico O’Reilly are both carrying issues and followed individual training programmes on Monday. Tuchel offered little certainty before the match, admitting he is still “not sure” whether either player will be available. That leaves England needing alternatives, particularly at left-back if O’Reilly fails to recover in time.

Lewis Hall looks well placed to benefit. He spoke ahead of the game and all signs point towards him being involved from the start if needed. The rest of the squad trained normally, with 22 players available and fit for selection before the flight to Prague.

James Trafford is set to keep his place in goal. That appears a straightforward decision, with Jordan Pickford expected to return for the final two matches of the international break.

The more interesting call is at right-back. Tuchel can stick with Jarell Quansah there, or he can bring Trent Alexander-Arnold back into the side. If he wants more control and delivery from deeper areas, the Real Madrid man gives him that immediately.

In midfield, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Elliot Anderson started against Spain. That pairing may change. James Garner is an option, and Alex Scott is pushing for a debut. Scott would add energy and carry, and this may be the right match to trust him.

Further forward, Harry Kane will want a cleaner night after the missed penalty against Spain, a strange moment made worse by the slip and double-kick. England still created enough in attacking areas, and there is little reason to dismantle that unit.
